Description

Mammouth fossil ivory earrings ”CHESTNUT”

Hand cut mammouth ivory earrings, 750 / °° yellow gold.

Precious earrings in mammouth ivory of 1st choice cut by hand in my workshop. The shape of these earrings comes from formal research on the drop, and after developing the various possible forms, I cut these lowered and enlarged 'chestnuts'.

With these new formal searches, I managed to create a series of large but extremely light earrings, thanks to very low thicknesses.

I called this jewelry series ”ICE AGE” in reference to the environmental conditions in which these woolly ancestors of today's elephants lived.

The 'fossil' ivory is free trade and does not require any certificate, as it does not belong to an endangered species.

Prospectors find it in parts of Siberia and Alaska, in the permafrost, the layer of frozen soil that thaws for a few months a year.

I purchase small fragments of fangs that have no archaeological value, but what I use to create jewelry and jewelry.

The yellow gold supports are also handmade in my workshop with traditional craft tools and take the shape of the ivory pendants, but overturned. The attachment to the ear is pin and butterfly. On request, it is possible to have chestnut drops of various sizes, limited to the availability of raw ivory.

Like every my jewel, I will also ship these mammouth fossil ivory earrings in a gift box with certificate of authenticity and guarantee stamped and signed CORAL NORD.
