Important amber earrings Mexican yellow-brown with inclusions. I made these faceted asymmetric drops by cutting raw amber from the Chiapas region of Mexico.

Mexican Amber is found in the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico, and it was already known at the time of the ancient Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Amber from Chiapas is a fossilized resin of prehistoric leguminous forests which over the millennia has taken on the color and characteristics that distinguish it.

The possible colors to meet are: dark red to yellow, light or dark honey, with characteristic bluish-green reflections if placed on a dark background. Its geological age dates back to approx 22 – 26 millions of years.

I forged the yellow gold setting by making two plates with the same shape as the amber drops, making these earrings unique pieces like all my jewels.

All my jewels are handmade in my workshop with traditional equipment.
