Bel amber pendant oval-shaped transparent light yellow natural mexican. I made this oval by cutting raw amber from the Chiapas region, in Mexico.

Mexican amber is found in the state of Chiapas in Mexico, near Guatemala, and it was already known at the time of ancient civilizations. It was worn and used in different ways by the Maya. Chiapas amber is a fossilized resin from ancient legume tree forests (now extinct) which, through a long process of fossilization, takes on consistency, the transparency and the colors that distinguish it. The possible colors to meet are: dark red to yellow, light honey or cognac, with characteristic bluish-green reflections if placed on a dark background. Its geological age dates back to approx 22 – 26 millions of years. The amber from those regions has a color that varies from bright yellow to red-brown.

I forged the setting of this amber and gold pendant in 750 / °° yellow gold by making a tube of about 7mm diameter for the passage of a chain or cord. The tube is rigidly hinged with amber and helps to make the pendant as unique as any of my pieces of jewelry.

All my jewels are handmade in my workshop with traditional equipment.
